Homemade Pizza Dough

Prep Time 1 hour 30 minutes
Cook Time 15 minutes

Ingredients

3½ to 4 cups all-purpose and bread flour (I like to use an equal mix of both for the best texture)
1 packet (2¼ tsp) Instant dry yeast
1½ cups warm water (not hot)
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon refined sugar

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Pizza Pan
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Spatula
  • Electric Dough Mixer optional
  • Measuring Cups

Method

In a large bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until bubbly.
    Add olive oil and salt.
Gradually stir in flour until a dough forms.
Knead for 5–8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 1–2 hours until doubled in size.
Punch down, shape, and it’s ready for your favorite pizza toppings.

              Notes

This recipe makes enough for two medium pizzas—or one large family pizza night that leaves everyone full and happy.
