Hello there, homemaker!
If your mornings are anything like mine, you probably love the idea of cozy, homemade pancakes—but don’t always have the time to make them from scratch. For years, I kept a box of “just-add-water” pancake mix in the pantry. It’s convenient, it’s quick, and all you have to do is add water.
But have you ever stopped and wondered what’s really inside that box?Well, I certainly have. And once I started reading the labels, I realized something important: pancakes don’t need a long list of stabilizers, preservatives, and artificial flavors. Pancakes are supposed to be simple. Flour. Baking powder. Sugar. Salt. Maybe powdered milk—nothing mysterious.
That’s when I started making my own homemade pancake mix, and friends...I've decided not to go back to store-bought !
In true homesteading fashion, this homemade pancake mix is thrifty, practical, easy to store, and—best of all—made from ingredients I already trust.
Homemade pancake mix is one of the easiest pantry staples you can whip up, and it feels so good knowing your breakfast comes from real, wholesome ingredients you can actually pronounce. Plus, it stores beautifully and makes busy mornings feel calm, cozy, and intentional.
